For Adventure Travel and Outdoor Experiential Education Providers safety is a top priority.  However, you might be surprised to learn the majority of companies maintain no certifications or accreditations for Risk Management and Safety.

Rainforest Expeditions is the sole company in Costa Rica, with the multitude of exciting activities we offer, to achieve accreditation from the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT). The process of this accreditation focuses on Risk Management and Safety Standards and is a key component in our commitment to your safety.

To achieve this accreditation we developed comprehensive Risk Management Policies and Procedures for each of the areas we operate and for each of the activities we facilitate.  We committed to 24 months of rigorous review and constant inspection of these policies, procedures and our programs.  We are very proud of this achievement and our safety record. We continually undergo monthly inspections, further ensuring our participants the best and safest possible experience.

Our membership and support of organizations such as the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) and the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) provide us with a whole host of workshops, contacts and resources in the industry, allowing us to keep up with current Risk Management topics as we continually assess and improve our own Risk Management procedures and protocol.
